This is the latest cut of my animator/director demo reel cut down to a nice, concise, 90 second mouthfull. Now includes 3D animation clips, and vitamin D!!

Contains the scenes from the following:
"My Friend Rabbit"
"Handy Manny"
"Ruby Gloom"
.. And various feature film, TV, and commercial projects.

The music is "Knock Me A Kiss"; a PUBLIC DOMAIN recording of the late great Louis Jordan.

These are great pieces you made. And yes, I really did wish the Hey Arnold jungle movie was made.

@01:29Yep.. That was an action/adventure sequence from a "Hey Arnold!" animated feature film. The project went fairly far before it was completely scrapped. The footage you see here was never released.

@01:29I thought that might have been it!! the jungle movie wow!! I am a huge fan of hey arnold and I've always felt sad the movie never made it.. if you have ANYTHING else like model sheets or anything I would do anything to see them! there are so many fans left on the edge because of what happened, you don't know how glad they would be to see even a hint of it. They've even done interviews with craig but he doesnt give anything away. Amazing to see this! you are a very talented animator and animator director ^_^

@01:29Thanks mate.. Nah, the only bits I have of that project is the final rendered sequence I animated on. And the only reason I have that is because the editor was a real good mate of mine, and he gave me a raw AVI copy of the final edit. (But it's just MY sequence, not the entire film) The studio I was working at, at the time had been given the cool jungle chase sequence to animate, where Arnold's Mom and Dad were chasing the main villain for an idol called "El Corazón". We'd finished our first sequence on the film, then Nickelodeon pulled the plug on the project.

@01:29so the animation in here is all you have or did it go longer? :O i figured you probably only had parts they told you to animate but I just thought id ask maybe if you had more :) thats really nice of the guy to give you the sequences, I can imagine nick wouldnt want this stuff to be seen but I think it's important.. Hey Arnold could have ended on a high note and many questions about the series would have been answered. Did you know much about The Patakis? It was also a shame that was never made. There are actually a lot of fan made animations for Jungle Movie and The Patakis. The fans are really devoted. Some of the animations aren't too bad either. I probably sound insane raving about Hey Arnold but it was a big part of my childhood and has a place in my heart, and the writing and stories can still hold my attention to this day. It really was a great show.

@01:29What's in my reel is just a clip of the sequence that I have. (Some choice bits). I think it's best that I not distribute the entire sequence that I have though. No, I don't know much of anything of the entire story they had for the film. We were only given the storyboards for the sequence we were handed from Nick. As soon as that was finished, they pulled the plug on the project. I was paid though, so I have no complaints.

@01:29Absolutely wonderful! Love your take on the Nicktoon and Hanna-Barbera characters, and the "voting' commercial is one of my all-time favorites!

Both the Nicktoons, and the Cartoon Network bumbers were REALLY fun to do. The snickers "Vote" commercial was a real experience. The client wanted an editorial cartoon look, which meant all the cleanups needed to be done in fine-point felt MARKER. To say that it was time consuming and fiddley is a major understatement. Needless to say, we went through a lot of liquid paper.

@01:29I used to watch Cartoon Network all the time as a kid. (and Nickelodeon. pretty much all the kids shows) I remember seeing those animations all the time way back when.
Definitely brings back memories. :)

@01:29I'm in my 17th year in animation. Some of those clips in the reel are around 8 or so years old. I started my career doing video game animation back in 1994. Then came back to Canada and worked for Disney. Then freelance at several studios.

@01:29Heh, thanks! ^_^ I've been involved in a lot more, but i wanted to keep this clip to 90 seconds, plus I don't have a copy of everything I've worked on. (Example; I don't have all the final renders of all the 3D work from Handy Manny. Only the low-res playblasts.)
