-*Please view in DIVX Hi-Quality Mode. It plays back so much better*-

I haven't posted anything for a while mainly because I've been flat out busy animating on this series. I thought I'd post one of my latest clips as another teaser for this series.

This is not the final edit, or final sound.

Animated using ToonBOOM Animate Pro 2, on a Wacom Cintiq 21 UX

@00:30TV of course. Technicly I shouldn't be posting these on DA at all. I'm kinda bending the rules by posting these.

Thanks!.. ToonBOOM Animate Pro 2. Our animation pipeline is kinda complex, which part are you asking about? Specificly animation, or from the beginning? (storyboard/design/breaking)

ToonBOOM! I've been wanting to try that, seems like its rather popular. I'm specifically curious about anything from the point of breaking through animation.

@00:30Thanks.. Nope, not my designs. I'm just lead animator on this series. I had nothing to do with the designs.

Awesome! so you did the key frames? that has amazing staging and timing. Do you pencil the key-frames for test and then use flash or another different software?

You're kinda mixing things up here.. I did all the animation, that means taking the designs from the design department and then making animation out of them. (drawing in extra arms, expressions, etc. that are needed to sell the acting in the character).. We use ToonBOOM animate Pro 2 in house.

I have heard about it, many amazing things, but for a college student like me it a dream. What tips would you share about getting out the door from college seeking a job in the field?

Oh man, advice for a college student to get into animation? Hehe.. My biggest advice is to leave any kind of attitude, or smugness at the door. Much like any commercial art-related industry, everyone in animation knows eachother. Bring your A-game to the interview, and never let anyone ever think you've got any kind of chip on your shoulder. You can develop a chip on your shoulder after you've already been in the industry for 15 years or so like me.. I'm a grouchy bastard who has a zero BS tollerance at the studio.. ^_~

Well my concern is that I don tolerate BS either, specially with projects. I expect a certain professional quality from the team, and the work that they will bring to the table, and if I dont see that working then I start calling people out. sometimes it feels like if I want a job well done, I must accomplish it my self. In animation that is har to say because you need a team, is not an option if you want to meet deadlines, so im concerned in that aspect when I get out the door

Well, simply put - When you first get into the door of an animation studio, you WON'T be put in charge of a team. You will be put at the bottom of the ladder with the rest of the Jr's. You can't demand a certain quality standard out of everyone till after you get assigned a supervisorly role. But under the gun for deadline, even the most professional and senior person will let certain standards slide just to stay on schedule. The trick is, not to let them slide very far.
